Formal Name: Entandrophragma angolense
Color: Sapwood is creamy white or pale pink and up to four inches wide and is not always sharply demarcated from the heartwood. The heartwood is a pinkish-brown or a dull, uniform red. When exposed to air and sunlight, the heartwood turns a deep red-brown.
Shade: Light
Grain: Uniform texture, which can range from medium to coarse. Tight grain, often interlocked, which can produce broad stripes.
Physical Properties: Moderate to heavy density, medium hardness and breaking strength.
Uses: furniture, joinery, cabinetmaking, boat construction, parquet flooring plywood and for decorative veneers
